The Climate Call card game is now available in no less than 10 different languages, and three more games are already in the pipeline; namely versions for Denmark, Finland and India!
As we have reported earlier, since the fall of 2023 we have been running an international education initiative called ‘ETIP’, which stands for “Empowering Teachers, Inspiring Pupils: A Transnational Approach to Fun and Engaging Climate Education”.
The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Swedish Institute.
The ETIP-project aims to strengthen climate education in several countries by spreading our successful education model, developing new language versions of the Climate Call card game and training teachers in climate education in collaboration with partner organizations in the different countries we work with.
More partners have joined the ETIP-project
From the outset, the project included partner organizations from Estonia (MTÜ Mondo), Latvia (Green Liberty, or “Zaļā brīvība” in Latvian), Lithuania (LINEŠA), and Poland (Center for Citizenship Education, CCE).
The project has recently expanded to two new countries: Denmark and Finland. In these countries, we are partnering with the ENO Schoolnet Association in Joensuu, Finland, the Natural History Museum of Denmark, and the Økolariet Science Centre in Denmark. The aim of the project is to create editions tailored to our neighboring countries. This expansion is made possible thanks to funding from the Nordplus Horizontal 2024 program.
As part of this initiative, we aim to print 500 games in Finnish and 500 in Danish. These games will be distributed to teachers in both countries and utilized by our partner organizations. The new editions are set to launch in early 2025.
Don’t miss our teaching materials available for teachers in English!
New version of the game in Turkish!
In addition to all the other new editions, in August 2024, we released a Turkish version of the Climate Call card game thanks to a project funded by the organization Sivil Düşün and realized by Ceren Altuntas Vural (Associate Professor, Supply and Operations Management, Technology Management and Economics, Chalmers) and Dr. Güliz Karaarslan Semiz (Doctor of Education, Research in Sustainability and Climate Change Education at the University of Vechta). The name of the game is İklim Pusulası, which means “Climate Compass” in Turkish.
Under this initiative, 500 games will be distributed to teachers in Turkey.
The Climate Call card game is now available in 10 different languages
As part of the international education initiative, we have so far developed editions of the Climate Call card game in no less than 10 different languages: Swedish, Norwegian, English, Estonian, Russian Estonian, Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, German and Turkish. In addition to that, we also have a card game about energy (so far, only available in Swedish).
